In Israel, children participating in an event by the Nature and Parks Authority found a 1,200-year-old coin.
The discovery was made in the Kursi National Park, located east of the Sea of Galilee, and dates back to Muslim rule in Israel. Other significant artifacts and archaeological sites have previously been discovered here. For example, a monastery complex dating from the 5th century provides insight into early Christian architecture and religious practices in the region.
Other valuable finds include mosaic floors of the Kursi monastery with complex patterns, fragments of ceramics, and coins.
During excavations on Kursi beach, the remains of a Jewish village were found, which was located on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and was inhabited long before the construction of the monastery.
