The NTV channel, citing a report by the Turkish government bulletin Resmî Gazete, writes that Turkey will levy a 2% accommodation tax on tourists from January 1.
The tax will have to be paid by those who stay in hotels, hotel complexes, resort villages, motels, boarding houses, and campsites. Public guest houses, recreation centers, and camps are also subject to the tax, “except rooming houses,” the channel clarifies.
Employees of foreign diplomatic missions and students staying in dormitories, hostels, and camps are exempt from paying the fee.
