Over the last summer season, the tourism sector in the world as a whole began to revive. After two years of a tough pandemic, restrictions, and fears, the flow of tourists still rushed to the resorts for a warm all-inclusive holiday. But those who visited the resorts of Turkey this year must have noticed that the prices for holidays there have risen somewhat. And with a high degree of probability by next summer they will be even higher.
Those who want to relax next summer under the hot sun of Antalya, Kemer, Alanya, or other Turkish resorts should already pay attention to the offers of tour operators. Booking of the first spring-summer tour packages has already begun. The choice is large, but the prices are not the same as they were a year ago.
Turkish hotels started signing contracts with tour operators for 2023 back in October. According to the Association of Tour Operators and Hoteliers of the Aegean Sea, prices for the accommodation of foreign tourists in the summer season of 2023 in hotels in Turkey will be on average 15-20% higher than this year. Hotel prices in Turkey for 2023 have already increased by at least 20% in foreign currency. At the same time, in some hotels and regions, the growth was 50% compared to this summer.
But if by the summer of 2023, the situation with the volume of air transportation to Turkey improves, then the next increase in prices by Turkish hoteliers will go almost unnoticed. Prices will remain approximately at the level of this year, said Muberra Eresin, President of the Association of Turkish Hoteliers.
Tourists choose more expensive
In Turkey, the percentage of choosing the most expensive hotels is growing faster than in other countries. That is, it is not so much the prices that change, but the preferences and capabilities of customers. But if we compare, for example, three-star hotels, then the increase in prices for them in Turkey, on the contrary, may be lower than three-star hotels in the Mediterranean resorts of European countries.
