A tourist accidentally rented an unusual apartment on the Airbnb short-term rental service, which is a bathroom with a bed, an angry response on Twitter amused netizens, which the Daily Mail drew attention to.
UC Berkeley Associate Professor David Holtz reportedly chose accommodation for a trip to London that didn’t have any reviews at the time of booking. Upon arrival, he found himself in a tiny apartment in which the bed was next to the toilet, opposite which was the shower. There was only a transparent panel between the bed and the toilet.
“That feeling when you walk into an apartment and realize that the whole space is basically just a big bathroom the owner has put a bed in,” the shocked tenant tweeted.
Holtz contacted Airbnb, where he was told that they were going to “take a closer look” at the issue.
But an enraged David said on the social network that he had not yet received any answers:
“I’ve spoken to customer service several times now and every customer service rep I’ve spoken to has not been interested in helping resolve the issue. Can I expect a different outcome this time?” – the frustrated guest angrily asks.
David’s post quickly went viral with over 11 million views. Subscribers in the comments did not share the guest’s anger and began to joke about the situation that happened to the tourist:
“You have everything you need at arm’s length,” one commenter responded.
“Don’t forget to close the toilet seat to transform it into a nightstand,” a second added jokingly.
“Basically, this is what my London apartment looks like,” shared another user.
An Airbnb spokesperson told the publication that customer support contacted the guest for assistance.
“We encourage guests to view all photos, descriptions, and reviews prior to booking a stay,” the company said.
