A Chinese tourist who went on an excursion to Tibet received terrible psychological trauma. He only changed his hotel room due to a “strange strong smell” – and only after a visit to the police, who called him the next morning, did he realize that the cause of the stench was a dead body hidden under the bed in this room. As a result, the tourist lost sleep and plans to seek psychological help. Such a terrible story was told by the Chinese media.
As the tourist himself, by the name of Zhang, said, they arrived at the Guzang Shuhua Inn in Lhasa, checked in, and disappeared in the room for about three hours, after which they left. He returned to his room at about seven in the evening and felt a “strange unpleasant smell”, because of which the tourist “felt uncomfortable”, but soon left the room again. As a result, after returning from dinner around 23.00, he realized that the smell had become even stronger and asked to change his room, which was done.
What was the horror of the tourist when the police woke him up early in the morning – and explained to him that the cause of the smell was a dead body hidden in his former room under the bed? The police recorded the tourist’s testimony and took a DNA sample from him. They did not detain the tourist, as they had already arrested a suspect in connection with this case – the likely killer tried to leave by train to Lanzhou, which is located about 1,300 miles from Lhasa. The case continues to be investigated.
As for the tourist, there were consequences for him.
“People write to me – I made up this story to become popular. I wish this never happened to me. I still can’t come to my senses,” the tourist complained.
By his admission, since then he has been unable to sleep properly and plans to turn to a psychologist to cope with this trauma.
