A tourist from the UK went to an arts festival in Scotland. The woman booked a place to sleep through the Airbnb service in Edinburgh. In the “luxury apartment” she was in for an unpleasant surprise, according to the Daily Record.
A night in an apartment in the city center costs the tourist £393. For seven days the woman paid 2750 pounds. However, as soon as she crossed the apartment threshold, she wanted to demand the money back. The furniture in the apartment turned out to be old, some parts of it were held on with scotch tape, like the doorknobs. There was dust everywhere, someone’s hair, rubbish. There was mold on the fabrics.
“When we arrived, we found urine and tissue in the toilet, which did not bode well. (…) The bathroom was also in desperate need of cleaning: both the cabinets and the sink were dirty, the toilet too, ”recalls the tourist.
The Briton turned to the accommodation service. She wanted to either demand cleaning or return the money for the rented apartment. However, the Airbnb staff ignored the request of the tourist. She was only sent a £750 coupon to use on her next trip.
