Citizens of Ukraine with biometric passports can now travel without visas to overseas departments and communities in France.
The decision was made by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs after long diplomatic efforts by the Ukrainian side.
“We have long worked with French partners to reach this solution, which further expands the freedom of travel for Ukrainians. Our joint efforts have been successful. I am grateful to the French government for the positive result,” said Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
From now on, Ukrainians can enjoy the right of visa-free entry to such overseas departments and communities of France as Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Reunion, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Mayotte, Wallis and Futuna Islands, New Caledonia, France, French Polynesia. Barthelemy and Saint Martin.
Ukrainian citizens can stay in these territories without visas for up to 90 days for a 180-day period.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine draws attention to the fact that in the conditions of the ongoing pandemic, entry into the mentioned territories is now allowed under the condition of full immunization with vaccines recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and allowed for use in France.
