A bus overturned in Cairo, injuring 22 people, including children

Twenty-two people, including children, were injured when a school bus belonging to an evangelical school in Cairo overturned on Friday on the Cairo-Mansoura road in Daqalia Governorate, egypttoday.com reports.

According to the governor’s office, a number of rescue and fire and rescue forces moved to the scene.

The report adds that 17 of the wounded were discharged. Meanwhile, 5 patients, including two children, are still in treatment, two more are in intensive care.

In October 2020, the Egyptian Cabinet Information Center published an infographic showing a decrease in the number of deaths caused by road accidents in Egypt this year compared to last year.

The infographic of the Cabinet of Ministers explains that Egypt recorded 7,000 deaths in 2020 against 12,000 cases in 2019, which means a decrease of 44 percent.

He went on to say that the progress was due to the state’s steps to develop the road and bridge sectors, as well as to take road safety measures to reduce injuries and deaths.
