A vaccine passport system will be introduced in the Canadian province of Quebec to counter the fourth wave of COVID-19 contamination, the state prime minister said on Thursday.
Prime Minister Francois Lego has said that vaccinated people will need a document to access secondary services such as gyms and restaurants.
“This measure will” allow people who have made an effort to get vaccinated to return to normal life, “he added.
Warning that infections are expected to increase in Quebec in the coming weeks, the prime minister said the system would help the government avoid mass quarantines in the province.
