The land border between the United States and Canada was opened today to fully vaccinated Americans after nearly 17 months of closure due to the coronavirus and despite a new outbreak, according to AFP.
To enter Canada, American travelers must receive two doses of the coronavirus vaccine approved by the Canadian government, and the second dose must be given no later than 14 days before they enter the country. A test is also required.
But Canadians are still not allowed to cross the US border for minor trips.
Canada closed the air border on March 18 last year, and three days later – the land border with the United States. The two countries have the longest common land border in the world.
