Volodymyr Zelenskyy received credentials from the Ambassadors of foreign states

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received credentials from the Ambassadors of a number of foreign states: Estonia – Kaimo Kuusk, France – Etienne de Ponsen, Austria – Gernot Pfandler, the Netherlands – Johannes Hermann Adrianus de Mol, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – Melinda Simmons.

During the conversation with the Ambassador of Estonia to Ukraine, the parties noted an active political dialogue between the two countries.

The President expressed gratitude to Estonia for the decision taken on the non-recognition of Russian passports illegally issued to the citizens of Ukraine in Donbas.

“I want to thank you, the government and the President for Estonia’s tough response to Russia’s passportization in the temporarily occupied territories,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The Head of State expressed hope for the intensification of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Estonia. The potential for cooperation in the areas of digitalization and e-government was also highlighted.

During the ceremony, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Etienne de Ponsen on the beginning of his diplomatic mission to Ukraine.

The parties discussed further intensification of political dialogue and bilateral economic cooperation and agreed to take concrete steps in the near future for this end. The Head of State noted the role of France in the Normandy format and expressed hope for the meeting at the level of the leaders of the states-participants in Paris in the near future.

During his conversation with the Ambassador of Austria to Ukraine, the Head of State thanked Austria for its continued support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for the practical assistance to our country in overcoming the consequences of Russian aggression.

“I would like to thank Austria for its strong sanctions policy as regards Russia,” the President of Ukraine said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also thanked Austria for its assistance in the rehabilitation of children of ATO participants.

“I know that about 500 children of ATO participants have received rehabilitation assistance from your country,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

The parties agreed on the need to intensify political and economic dialogue between the two countries.

Speaking with the Ambassador of the Netherlands, the Head of State informed him of the security situation in Donbas and the mutual release of the detained persons carried out by Ukraine and Russia on September 7.

The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Dutch side for a constructive stance on this issue and assured of his willingness to punish the perpetrators of the MH-17 tragedy.

During the conversation with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the assistance in holding reforms and increasing Ukraine’s defense capability.

The parties noted a high intensity of political dialogue, in particular at the level of the heads of state.

They also noted the importance of continuing negotiations on a new agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, which would define the political and economic relations between the two countries after the UK’s exit from the EU.
