At Sydney Airport, an airport service vehicle collided with a Jetstar Airbus A320, which resulted in serious damage to the engine nacelle, AviationSource News reports.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. when airport personnel were towing the aircraft to the gate terminal. The cabin of the lightweight vehicle became stuck under the plane’s right engine. The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

At the time of the incident, Jetstar’s single-aisle Airbus was empty as it was being moved to the gate by a tugboat. The aircraft VH-VGJ was seriously damaged and became unusable. The airline was forced to cancel its planned flight JQ760 from Sydney to Adelaide.
Passengers were reassigned to later flights to continue their journey. The incident caused temporary disruption to air traffic at Sydney Airport. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.
