A novice pilot in Australia survived a plane crash at a height of half a kilometer. When the man got to the hospital, the medical staff was surprised how he survived such a plane crash, reports the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, the accident occurred with 27-year-old businessman Jake Elven during his second training flight with an instructor in the southwestern suburbs of Sydney. The ultralight aircraft had an engine failure.
The aircraft crashed into the ground and crashed into a tree. Jake lost consciousness, and “woke up upside down in the bushes.”
“It was an interesting feeling. The closer we flew to the ground, the more I thought it was going to hurt. I lost consciousness for a while after hitting a tree hard, but I remember the first thing I thought when woke up:“ Wow, I can’t believe I survived!” the victim told Daily Mail Australia.
The businessman left the crash site “completely disoriented” and with a broken leg: he posted a video on social networks about his misadventures.
“Second flight in an airplane, and to be honest, it’s been better,” he said, filming his injuries to his face and legs. He then pointed the camera at the mangled wreckage of the plane, saying, “This is all that’s left of him,” the tabloid describes in the video.
Jake said that his wife picked up his instructor at the runway and drove him to receive medical attention, and the victim himself reached the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for an hour and a half on his own.
But when Mr. Elven finally got to the medical facility, he was shocked by the reaction of the medical staff, who did not believe that he had survived the plane crash.
“They almost sent me to a psychiatric hospital when I stumbled in without shoes, covered in blood and also covered in mud and bark,” Jake later told reporters.
He added that the doctors only believed him when he showed them the video on his phone.
“Fortunately, I needed only one operation on the areas most affected by the impact, and I had a broken leg,” the rookie pilot describes his unforgettable experience.
Elven told the media that he plans to fly again as soon as he recovers and wants to buy his plane one day.
