The EU Council has announced that Australia, Canada and Argentina have been excluded from the list of countries not covered by EU travel restrictions.
This decision temporarily bans travel from these countries to the EU for minor reasons. It states that EU countries reserve the right not to apply restrictions to fully vaccinated against COVID-19 travelers.
The list is reviewed every two weeks. It now includes Bahrain, Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay, whose citizens can travel to the EU without restrictions.
The Council adds that the decision to change the content of the list monitors the indicators of the epidemic, the reliability of the data and the reciprocity of measures against passengers from the EU.
It is added that the list is not mandatory, but exceptions should be agreed at European level.
