An Australian man has died after being attacked by a kangaroo he kept as a pet, BBC reports, citing police.
Relatives found the 77-year-old man seriously injured at his home in Redmond, about 400km south of Perth, on Monday.
When doctors arrived at the estate, a kangaroo prevented them from helping the man. The policemen had to shoot the uterine animal.
A police spokesman told the media that, according to police, the man had been attacked by a kangaroo earlier that day.
There are about 50 million kangaroos in Australia, but attacks on humans are rare. The current case is the first death since 1936.
