Australia will introduce a fee for passage to natural tourist sites

From April 2023, the government of the Australian Northern Territory will introduce a fee for tourists to access the most famous natural attractions, Mirror reports.

So, there will be a paid pass to Edith Falls, Litchfield National Park, and the hot springs of Mataranka. Of the 85 parks and reserves administered by the Northern Territory government, 50 will collect money from visitors.

A whole system of tickets has been developed, in particular, a ticket for a day for a family will cost $25. Residents are exempt from payment.

Tourist industry experts believe that innovation will negatively affect the flow of tourists and reduce the number of photographs of attractions. According to the authorities, additional funds will help maintain ecosystems and preserve objects for future generations.
