An Australian tourist while on vacation in Italy decided to jump off a cliff into the sea, but slipped and fell on the rocks.
The incident was caught on video published by the Daily Mail. It all happened on the rocks of Fiordo di Furore on the southern coast of the Mediterranean country.
The source clarifies that “the thrill-seeker was going to jump off a cliff into the Italian sea”, but the jump did not go according to plan, due to the fact that the girl slipped on the rocks. The victim’s partner tried to grab her, but she crashed into the rocks below.
Before falling into the water head first, the jumper hit her feet on the rocks. It is reported that she was taken to the ambulance only an hour after the incident. The publication did not provide details about her condition and the nature of the injuries.
Australian tourist Cal Glanzig, who videotaped the jump, stressed the importance of travel insurance just minutes before her fall:
“This week we have an issue about why you should get travel insurance. We have a friend here who has no idea what the temperature of the water is,” the author of the video made a sarcastic eyeliner and in the next second captured an accidental fall.
The video’s caption reads: “If only travel insurance companies offered extra protection against idiots.”
The video stunned viewers. Commentators noted that they could not understand why she even wanted to jump into the water, if it was obvious that it was shallow there.
“Something tells me her tomorrow will be just as bad,” wrote one user.
“All because of her hesitation to take the jump,” said another.
