According to Khaleej Times, the UAE authorities are rejecting applications for extending visitor visas without tourists leaving the country.
Recall that the possibility of extending a visitor visa without the need to leave the UAE was provided to tourists during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, according to a number of travel companies, that measure has been lifted and immigration authorities have returned to pre-Covid procedures.
Travel agents report that it is still possible for Ukrainians to extend their stay in Dubai after 90 days under the visa-free regime, and a 60-day visa extension is also available. As for the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, it is no longer possible to extend visas there without leaving the country.
Overstaying tourist and visitor visas to the UAE is subject to a fine of 50 dirhams per day. Tourists can also be arrested if their visa is overdue for more than 30 days.
