Thailand may resume a 45-day visa-free regime for tourists as soon as the new government fully comes into its own.
This was announced by the Executive Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Tirasin Tapen.
According to him, at the end of March, the relaxation in the form of an increased visa-free stay of tourists up to 45 days was not extended, since the government was changing in Thailand at that moment. Now, as soon as the new government begins to work, TAT will ask him to continue the practice of a 45-day visa-free regime.
In addition, as Tirasin Tapen stated, the introduction of a tourist tax of 300 baht will be postponed, the exact dates will be announced later.
