The Saudi authorities will issue a new type of visa to foreigners – transit visas for 96 hours.
The country’s authorities announced a joint project with the Saudia airline called “Your ticket is a visa.” Within its framework, foreigners with tickets from this airline will be able to stay in Saudi Arabia for four days, that is, 96 hours. During this time, guests will be able to explore local attractions or make the Hajj.
Saudia passengers will be able to obtain a transit visa when booking tickets online as early as the first half of 2023. It is not yet known whether such a visa will be free.
According to the calculations of the Saudi authorities, the new program will increase the demand for flights to the country from foreigners by 40%.
