Russia’s Foreign Ministry has advised its citizens to refrain from traveling to Britain, citing the problems Russians face when obtaining a British visa, according to Reuters.
“Given Britain’s extremely unfriendly course towards our country, in order to avoid financial losses and other possible problems, we recommend that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to the United Kingdom and applying for a British visa,” Moscow said in a statement.
Russia’s foreign ministry has said it has received numerous complaints from Russian citizens that obtaining a visa to the UK has become “virtually impossible or extremely difficult”, adding that this applies not only to Russian tourists but also to Russians working in the UK. and people wishing to visit relatives.
The department said that, according to explanations provided by London, the British Visa Service now gives priority to applications from Ukrainian refugees when processing visa applications, which significantly delays the processing of visa documents for Russian citizens.
