The publication Helsingin Sanomat reports (siirryt toiseen palveluun) that the Russian authorities at border crossing points have begun to cancel visas issued to Finnish citizens.
According to the publication, Russian border guards canceled the visas of Finns crossing the border and turned them back to Finland starting Thursday. This was especially active on Friday, writes Yle.
According to HS, this happened most often at the Vaalimaa checkpoint, but similar cases have also been recorded in Nuijamaa.
Tourists who were not allowed into Russia by Russian border guards usually went shopping or gasoline to the Russian side.
