As part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to introduce new features since early April, the government has provided procedures for obtaining a tourist visa to Egypt.
On Thursday, the ministry launched a three-week social media campaign in other countries, including the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Algeria and South Africa, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.
The campaign is carried out in light of the Ministry’s desire to familiarize tourists of different nationalities with new opportunities in the procedure for obtaining a tourist visa to Egypt.
This, in turn, will help increase inbound tourism to Egypt, explained Lamia Kamel, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Promotion.
More than 180 nationalities can obtain a tourist visa on arrival at the ports of Egypt, provided that they already have a valid and used Schengen visa and visas for the UK, USA, Japan, New Zealand, Canada and Australia.
The number of nationalities that can obtain a mandatory tourist visa at the ports of Egypt or electronically is 78, with some additional nationalities having special benefits in case of direct access to the cities of Sharm el-Sheikh and Taba, provided they have a return ticket, accommodation reservation and credit card or whatever covers their stay in Egypt.
