According to The National, Dubai authorities have canceled a 10-day grace period during which holders of visitor visas could leave the UAE without penalty when their validity expired.
Now fines for delaying visas will be charged immediately and amount to 50 dirhams per day. To avoid this, holders of visitor visas must apply for their renewal before the expiry date or leave the country. Other emirates of the UAE have already canceled this grace period earlier.
In November 2022, the Dubai authorities began to standardize visa rules for tourists and residents.
Thus, the amount of the fine for delaying tourist and visitor visas has been reduced from 100 to 50 dirhams per day. And residents who exceeded the period of stay began to pay 50 dirhams instead of 25 per day of delay.
The new UAE visa rules allow tourists to stay in the country for up to 60 days (with the possibility of extending for another 30 days) within six months.
