Magnitude 8.1 earthquake shook the coast of Alaska, a tsunami alert

A strong earthquake measuring 8.1 on the Richter scale occurred off the coast of Alaska, according to RIA Novosti.

The quake was registered at 06:15 local time. The epicenter is located 106 km southeast of the small village of Perville. The cell was at a depth of 3.4 kilometers.

No casualties or injuries were reported, but a tsunami alert was issued.
