Record heat covered Britain: It was warmer than in Hawaii

It was warmer in Britain yesterday than most of Hawaii or Los Angeles, DPA reports, citing the British Weather Service.

Thermometers in the UK in several places showed about 30 degrees.

The temperature in the capital London and the southeast of England reached 29.5 degrees. In the north of Scotland was the hottest day since the beginning of the year.

At the same time, temperatures are expected to rise further. Forecasts over 32 degrees today and tomorrow and a potential record.

The highest temperature recorded in Britain since the beginning of the year was 32.7 degrees. Thermometers showed this value at Heathrow Airport on June 17.

Yesterday in Ireland was also the warmest day of the year. At Shannon Airport, in the southwest of the island, 25.6 degrees were measured.

The heatwave is expected to pass later this week when a cold front is predicted to arrive.
