As stated by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), international tourism by the end of this year will recover to almost 90% of pre-pandemic 2019 levels.
According to the organization’s statistics, from January to September, 975 million tourist trips were made in the world, which is 38% more than during the same period a year earlier.
Countries in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa are leading in terms of recovery rates. The Asia-Pacific region continues to lag behind other parts of the world due to the slow reopening of countries after the pandemic.
Spending on international travel around the world is steadily increasing. According to UNWTO experts, by the end of this year, they will reach $1.4 trillion, which is 93% of the pre-crisis level in 2019.
