Tourists can receive a huge fine and even go to prison for a relatively innocent, albeit unhealthy habit – they were warned by Turkey, the UAE (Dubai), and India.
In the European press, warnings about fines that tourists in these countries can receive for vaping are widely published. The fact is that they are strictly prohibited in Turkey and India, and Dubai, there are serious restrictions on vaping.
The details and amounts are as follows: Vaping and heating tobacco are strictly prohibited in Turkey. A person caught violating the rule faces a fine of up to $120. In India, vaping was banned back in 2019 “due to health problems” – and the legislation is also very strict. Those caught with an electronic cigarette will have to part with the sum of about $1,100 and repeat offenders face prison terms.
Dubai first banned the sale of e-cigarettes in 2009. Although this rule has since been lifted, travelers are strongly advised to be careful where they vape. In public places, this is punishable by a fine of $500.
“It is very important for vapers to thoroughly research the vaping laws of their vacation destinations before finalizing travel plans. The least anyone wants to do is face unexpected legal problems while on vacation,” experts warned tourists.
