A British tourist has been jailed in Dubai after an incident at the airport. The conflict erupted after a refusal to provide a wheelchair to the traveler’s mother.
An attempt to clarify information about the flight led to an unpleasant dialogue with an airport terminal employee, DailyMail reports.
After the worker rejected the tourist’s request to provide the mother with a wheelchair for ease of movement, the conflict escalated. The traveler noticed that another passenger had been given a stroller, and decided to defend his mother. Turning to the employee again, he expressed dissatisfaction with obscene language.
The incident led to criminal proceedings for ill-treatment of staff and the tourist was given a fine of Dh10,000.
The Briton took the case back to court to appeal the ruling but was instead sentenced to three months in prison.
