Seven people were injured last night in Istanbul after a massive snowball fight broke out, Turkish media reported.
Dozens of people took advantage of the heavy snowfall and fought snowballs in a park in Istanbul’s Tophani district, near the tourist areas of Galata and Karakei in the European part of the city.
For unknown reasons, tensions arose between the two groups, which began pushing and punching each other, the Turkish news agency DHA reported, citing Agence France-Presse.
At least one person was shot and wounded seven people, DHA reported, publishing video from surveillance cameras.
According to the Turkish Umut Foundation, there are about 25 million firearms among the country’s 84.7 million people, far exceeding those of the authorities.
