The number of victims of floods and mudslides in the Black Sea region of Turkey has reached 44 people. This was announced on Saturday by the Office for Prevention and Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies (AFAD) under the Government of Turkey.
According to the report, 36 people died in the northern province of Kastamonu, 7 in Sinop and one local in Bartyn.
The AFAD said that the staff of all relevant services are on the ground and continue efforts to evacuate, search and rescue people.
The day before, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the disaster zone in the north of the country. The head of state assured that the state would do everything possible to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters in the north and south of the country.
