You must know this if you are going to photograph in Egypt

The Egyptian government has issued a decree allowing amateur non-commercial photography in public places, but subject to certain conditions, according to Al-Ahram.

Under the new rules, Egyptian citizens, foreigners living in Egypt, and tourists can now take photos in public places without paying a fee and without special permission. All types of analog and digital cameras, personal video cameras, and tripods are allowed.

Photography of buildings, real estate, and objects of the ministries of defense, military production and internal affairs, judicial institutions, and other government agencies is prohibited.

It is also prohibited to publish photographs that may harm the image of the country, offend its citizens and violate public morality. It is forbidden to photograph children, as well as to photograph and publish photographs of Egyptian citizens without their written consent.
