European countries are simplifying entry rules before the summer season. The latest updates on sanitary and epidemiological requirements are reported by Dip.org.ua with reference to TravelPulse.
Due to the reduced risk of COVID-19, many European countries have changed their entry rules. Experts provided up-to-date information on 65 European countries. We have chosen information about those that are most accessible to Ukrainians and about which we have not written before.
Bulgaria
Since May 1, by decision of the Ministry of Health, all anti-epidemic measures for those arriving from other countries have been canceled in the country. You no longer need an EU digital vaccination certificate, a COVID-19 report or a PCR test.
Greece
Greece has lifted all restrictions for foreign tourists from May 1 to September 1. In autumn, the rules may be revised based on the level of incidence in the country. For the time being, arrivals will not be required to take PCR or antigen tests before travel, or undergo rapid testing for COVID-19 upon arrival.
Lithuania
Since May 1, the state of emergency introduced due to the pandemic has been canceled in the country. Tourists do not need to take a COVID-19 test before travel and do not need to fill out questionnaires from the National Center for Public Health.
Croatia
The Ministry of the Interior did not extend the restrictions on entry into the country, which were in effect until April 30, 2022. Accordingly, entry into Croatia is permitted under the rules in force before the pandemic.
Italy
For tourists in Italy, from May 1, the Green Pass was canceled, which is obtained on the basis of an EMA vaccination or PCR test with a prescription of no more than 48 hours. Previously, it was required at the entrance to catering establishments, on planes, trains, ferries and interregional buses. The requirement to fill in the passenger search form is also cancelled.
Albania
From May 1, pre-pandemic entry rules come into force. Tourists do not have to provide a vaccination certificate, PCR or antigen test at the border. There is also no need to be quarantined upon arrival.
United Kingdom
The UK lifted all covid travel restrictions back in March.
France
Travelers, regardless of their country of origin, can enter France without presenting a PCR test. However, a vaccination certificate is required.
Germany
The German authorities have decided to extend the existing entry restrictions due to the coronavirus until the end of May. Third country travelers over 12 years of age will still be required to present a vaccination certificate or a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 within the last 90 days. Unvaccinated individuals must provide PCR tests no more than 48 hours prior to arrival.
The selection also mentions a number of countries where restrictions have been lifted completely, including: Sweden, Norway, Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Montenegro.
