From January 1 next year, the authorities of Uzbekistan are launching a tax-free system in the country. This is reported by the state tax committee of the republic.
In particular, VAT refunds will be made at the airports of five cities: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, and Fergana. It is planned that the system will work in all air harbors and border checkpoints.
It is noted that tax-free will be available to tourists within 3 months after arrival in the country. The system assumes the total amount of goods must be at least 1 million souls.
To receive a VAT refund, you must also register in the Soliq mobile application and scan receipts for purchases.
Earlier, a similar system was launched in Egypt, but only at Sharm el-Sheikh airport.
