The Associated Press news agency reports that the Turkish Foreign Ministry warned its citizens about vigilance when traveling around Europe.
The warning was issued after increased anti-Turkish actions, in particular in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Denmark, where the Koran was burned. Also, the Turkish authorities drew attention to the increase in the number of European protests by supporters of the Kurdish Workers’ Party banned in Turkey.
Turkish citizens are urged to take precautions and stay away from demonstration sites. Cases of xenophobia or racism should be reported to local authorities.
