The resort province of Antalya in Turkey is on fire again. This time, the fire engulfed Konyaalti – one of the best areas of the resort, located in the west of Antalya between the sea, busy beaches, and green Taurus mountains covered with pine forests. The fire has been brought under control, the Anatolian Agency said.
The fire broke out in a wooded area near the Tyunektepe cable car. The cause of the fire has not yet been established. Employees of the Antalya Regional Forestry Department were reportedly sent to the region. 5 helicopters and 4 planes fought with the elements from the air, as well as 7 ground services. It was clarified that due to the fire, the movement of the cable car was stopped. This time there were no casualties. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
However, this is not the first fire in the resort province of Turkey this year. So, last weekend, as a result of a fire in a forest near the resort town of Manavgat in the province of Antalya, an area of 200 square meters was damaged. The fire broke out around 14:00 in the forest near the hotel strip. Law enforcement agencies of the republic are confident in the ongoing attempts to set fire to tourist recreation areas.
