Turkish Airlines will be renamed Türkiye Hava Yollar. On Tuesday, June 14, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters.
“From now on, we will write Türkiye Hava Yolları instead of Turkish Airlines on the fuselages of our aircraft,” the head of the republic said.
He added that the decision was made at the state level in connection with the official change of the country’s name from the English language Turkey to Turkish Türkiye. At the end of May, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu notified the UN Secretary-General about this, and on June 1, the innovation came into force.
Accordingly, the name of the flag carrier, in which the name of the country is present, also changes.
