Turkish Airlines has “improved” its tariff policy in the latest fashion. The main principle of which is to pay for almost everything. Tourists will have to either buy a ticket at a more expensive fare or pay for literally everything – for luggage above the minimum 8 kg, for the choice of seat, etc., according to the Turkish newspaper Turizm Gunlugu.
This is no longer a surprise on most international flights of Turkish airlines – luggage for an additional fee was introduced in November 2020. But at the moment this rule applies to all flights. According to Turkish media reports, Turkish Airlines will now charge a fare for all passengers except passengers with a high-level loyalty card on international flights (in other words, only VIPs will be exempted). As for luggage, the minimum free rate allows only 8 kg of hand luggage, which a rare tourist can fit. You will have to pay extra for luggage.
In general, tourists know everything about other carriers: Turkish Airlines has offered three different airfares: EcoFly, ExtraFly, and PrimeFly – that is, known to our tourists as “economy”, and “optimum” and “premium”. Tickets of the cheapest version cannot be changed, canceled, or returned, they do not have a free choice of seat and only free luggage is allowed for free – if we talk about foreign flights. The optimal 23 kg of luggage is available.
On domestic flights, if someone gathers from Istanbul to Antalya, the conditions are a little better – the economy tariff allowed 8 kg of hand luggage and 15 kg of luggage. Free choice of seats, however, is not included.
