Between July and September 2025, Turkey generated $24.26 billion in tourism revenue, up 3.9% year-on-year, according to TurkStat.
The quarter saw 23.6 million visitors, primarily from abroad, as Turkey continues to attract travelers with its mix of heritage, coastlines, and hospitality.
Foreign visitors lead the growth
International tourists contributed $24.05 billion, while Turkish citizens living abroad accounted for 16.1% of the total ($3.9 billion). Transit passengers added another $211 million, underscoring Turkey’s role as a key travel hub.
Individual trips dominated spending ($15.97 billion), though package tours still represented a third of the total. The biggest expense categories were food and beverage (19.9%), transport (11.1%), and accommodation (17.3%).
Health tourism surged 20.3%, driven by wellness seekers at Pamukkale’s spas and Antalya’s clinics, while cultural tourism remained strong at 73.8%.

Outbound travel also on the rise
Turkish travelers spent $2.48 billion abroad, up 32.3%, with an increasing number exploring Europe and Asia.
With balanced growth, rising per-night spending (around $100), and a renewed focus on quality experiences, Turkey continues to evolve from a budget-friendly destination into a global tourism leader.
