Travel expert Rosie Panther reveals how tourists are being scammed in three popular countries.
According to the Panthers, camel rides are often scammed in Egypt. The tourist pays money and climbs on the animal. But after a walk, he cannot go down on his own, and the scammer asks for an additional fee for the “descent”.
In Italy, a scheme with a “fake child” is common. An elderly woman pretends to stumble and drops the baby into the hands of a tourist. While the traveler is confused, pickpockets immediately approach him and quietly steal valuables.
In the United States, taxi drivers are notorious for dishonesty. Some of them help tourists pull bags out of the trunk, but if there are a lot of them, not all of them pull them out. Some travelers notice the loss only after the driver has left.
