Tourists were urged to leave Turkey urgently, and the reason was named – and it is mass protests. However, for now, this warning is not for Ukrainians, but for tourists from Israel, whom the National Security Council of this country has warned against traveling to Turkey. The main reason is the fear that Israeli travelers will be targeted by those unhappy with the ongoing war between Israel and the Gaza Strip, especially by mass protests.
At the same time, Turkey was called an extremely dangerous country. Turkey’s danger level has been raised to 4. That is, all Israelis who are in the country are urged to leave it immediately. It should be noted that protests against Israel have been ongoing in Turkey since Tuesday, the most massive ones were held in Ankara and Istanbul. Moreover, in the Turkish capital, protesters blocked one of the highways, and in Istanbul, demonstrators marched to the Consulate General of Israel.
Let us remind you that excesses with Israeli tourists have already happened, however, in another mass destination – Egypt. There, shortly after the hostilities began, a bus with tourists was shot: they were killed and wounded. Everything happened in the second largest city in the country – Alexandria. It is noteworthy that the one who shot at the bus with tourists was a police officer. The Israeli Foreign Ministry then confirmed that two Israelis and their Egyptian guide were killed when a “resident” opened fire on them.
It will be recalled that since the beginning of October, Israel has entered into a war with its eternal antagonist, the Gaza Strip. The chronicle of the beginning of the war, which is cited by the Israeli press and Telegram channels, is as follows: more than 5 thousand rockets were fired at Israel, and the shelling continues. At the same time, the group “Kataib Iz al-Din al-Qassam” (the militant wing of Hamas) announced the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. At 10:30, the Ministry of Defense of Israel officially announced the start of the counter-terrorist operation “Iron Swords”.
