The Stevenson family was returning home from a ski trip in Sweden and decided to stay overnight at one of the local hotels. During dinner in the dining room, one of the children noticed a familiar face looking down at him from the wall. A story that could form the basis of a horror movie script is told by Mirror.
“The daughter said, ‘Mom, there’s a picture of Barney hanging on the wall.’ Looking more closely, Janie Stevenson saw a portrait of a child, like two drops of water similar to her seven-year-old son,” the newspaper quoted the tourist as saying.
As noted by the publication, on the wall hung a painting by the Swedish artist Carl Larsson depicting a little girl, strikingly similar to the son of a frightened tourist.
According to Jenny, the location of the hotel in “an old house with creaky floors” added to the anxiety, and the painting “Flowers in the Meadow” only added a frightening note to the surroundings.
The mother-of-two shared the “confusing” find on social media, scaring her followers.
“Just checked into our secluded rural bed and breakfast and found a painting of our youngest son as a little girl,” the mother of three tweeted.
The writer later expanded on the post by describing how she was woken up in the middle of the night by “an eerie sound like turning pages or shuffling a deck of cards.”
According to her blog confession, the woman locked all the doors in her room and even planned to lock the children’s room, but resisted.
Despite all the frightening details, the family still got out of the guest house the next morning “alive and unharmed,” the publication concluded.
One of the subscribers suggested that the night sounds could be made by “a child trying to get out of the picture.”
