Five tourists were injured as a result of an emergency at a popular attraction in Turkey.
There was a rockfall in the Saklikent National Park, where Turkey’s longest gorge, often visited by tourists, is located. The result was “trauma, panic, and horror,” Turizm Ajansi reports.
The incident occurred at noon when the national park was full of people. Pieces of stone fell from the mountainside for unknown reasons. As a result of the incident, five tourists were seriously injured and were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Saklikent National Park was founded in 1996, it is located in the province of Mugla, 50 kilometers from the city of Fethiye. The national park consists of a canyon, which has become famous throughout the world for its size.
Saklikent Canyon is recognized as the longest and deepest canyon in Turkey and the second-largest canyon in Europe. Its length is 18 kilometers, and the height in different sections reaches up to 1000 meters.
