Each country is distinguished by its unique cultural code – this is its wealth. It is he who leaves an imprint on the people inhabiting it, and allows you to distinguish it from others. The publication about travel and tourism named several unusual habits of the inhabitants of five countries. Perhaps some of them are a bit stereotyped, but no stereotype is born from scratch.
USA
In most American homes, it is not customary to take off your shoes when you go inside. This is because city streets are very clean: they are washed daily.
Even among Americans, it is not customary to pay attention to the appearance of an interlocutor or a passerby. You can go to the store in pajamas or with a towel on your head, but the American will only smile at you sweetly.
And in America, it is customary to go to bed earlier – children can already be in bed around 20:00. But at the same time, everyone wakes up much earlier. And given that it is always sunny in most states, many Americans are happy to play sports and involve everyone around them in this.
Great Britain
In the UK people like to drink tea for a long time. Interestingly, this habit itself came to the British from Portugal. He was brought as a dowry by the Portuguese princess Catharina of Braganza for her wedding to King Charles II. As a result, this tradition was adopted by the courtiers, and then by all the rest of the British. By the way, then tea even became more popular than coffee, which the British loved so much.
Germany
The Germans are a people who always do everything according to the rules. This, by the way, even applies to such mundane things as brewing tea.
It is also not customary for the Germans to drink freshly squeezed juice, here many consider it harmful. As a result, the drink is diluted with water. You can also add ice.
France
In France, it is customary to take long lunch breaks during work – they can last up to two hours. Every employer cares about the fact that employees can slowly enjoy a meal and get some rest.
The French are very economical and try to properly allocate their budget, living within their means. The only thing they don’t skimp on is food. In France, people are willing to overpay to get a good quality product. This also includes the habit of going to restaurants.
South Korea
In South Korea, it is not customary to say “Bless you!” when a person sneezes. Usually, they don’t react to this in any way, they just pretend that nothing happened, and the person who sneezed quietly apologizes.
Age is also very important for Koreans—when you meet, the first thing they ask you is how old you are. Appeals and even some forms of words depend on this. In Korea, as in Kazakhstan, adults are treated with respect, and they also love children very much. That is why, during a joint meal, everyone is waiting for the elder to start eating.
By the way, even in Korea, it is not customary to lick a spoon or chopsticks. This is because many dishes are usually eaten by a large company or family.
