Unlike Venice, which will soon have to pay to visit, the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia plans to pay extra for people who came there for tourism purposes.
A new tourist reception scheme has been introduced to revitalize tourism in the region. By the way, it is considered one of the least visited areas of Italy.
All tourists arriving in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region will have the right to travel free of charge throughout the country by train. The authorities of the region will pay for them.
In addition, officials confirmed that they will issue every traveler a card that entitles them to free admission to museums, free public transport, and discounts at a wide variety of locations.
Tourists will be able to travel on Trenitalia’s state-owned trains, from regular regional lines to intercity lines, as well as high-speed Frecce lines.
To take advantage of the trip, tourists must book a tour package with accommodation at a participating hotel. When booking at least two nights, the cost of the return ticket will be refunded as cashback from the total amount.
As a reminder, the Italian authorities previously confirmed that from January 1, 2023, all-day travelers planning to visit Venice will be charged.
The cost of the entrance ticket depends on the season, that is, on the season. Visitors who do not have a valid ticket with them will be denied entry to Venice by the city authorities.
