A tourist has warned other travelers after she was issued a large fine for breaking an important law in Italy.
“We were fined 80 euros as soon as we arrived in Italy. Don’t make that mistake,” said a user under the nickname leonitaveldiary in a video on her Instagram page.
The girl explained that when using any public transport in Italy, all passengers need to stamp their tickets in special machines after purchasing them, before entering a train car or bus.
“It’s a green machine at stations, a yellow machine in buses,” she added.
Other important rules for tourists in Italy
Earlier, tourists were reminded that in Italy all visitors to public swimming pools must wear a swimming cap, otherwise, they may simply not be allowed there.
Meanwhile, in the fishing town of Portofino in the province of Genoa, they decided to introduce fines of 275 euros for tourists who “loiter” or linger too long for photos at popular locations.
In addition, the Italian authorities have proposed fines of 10,000 to 60,000 euros for people who damage monuments or other cultural objects.
