For tourists vacationing in the resorts of Antalya and planning a trip to the southern provinces of Turkey this week, Turkey’s main weather bureau has issued a critical temperature warning, publishing a weather forecast report and other interesting details.
According to forecasters, the resorts of Turkey suffered a heat stroke, because the heat exceeded +42° C last Sunday. At the same time, the thermometer did not drop below +26° C at night. The hellish heat will continue this week, and no rain is expected in the Turkish Mediterranean. The humidity level will decrease.
If the temperature in sightseeing Istanbul will stay at +33°C, then the beach Izmir and Antalya resorts will stay at +42°C. Meteorologists added that this season the temperature values are higher than average in the resorts of not only the Mediterranean region of Turkey but also the Aegean and Marmara seas. At the same time, the humidity drops. Such steam creates an increased risk of forest fires. Other regions of Turkey, on the contrary, “will not reach” the seasonal norms.
Doctors are asking tourists to adjust their plans this week based on the following weather forecast:
Clear weather is expected on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The wind will be strong (40-60 m/s) from the north in inland and mountainous areas. In Antalya – +42°С, in Adana – +37°С, in Isparta – +34°С. As for the Mediterranean coast of Europe, meteorologists predict a disappointing +45°С-+50°С.
On the Aegean coast of the republic, mostly clear weather is expected, but with slight cloudiness. In the coastal areas, forecasters predicted the same wind gusts as in Antalya. In Izmir, the thermometer will rise to +39°C, in the province of Mugla (Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye) – to +38°C.
