Coffee is getting more expensive in Greece every week. Owners of cafes, bars, and taverns report that they are forced to adjust prices as costs rise.
Coffee, which was sold on the beach last summer for 2 euros, now costs 4 euros. Prices vary from restaurant to restaurant, but are always higher than before, customers complain in the media.
Due to the sharp rise in the price of the drink, the shade on the beach will also become more expensive. As you know, on the Greek coast, umbrellas and sunbeds are often rented to order for consumption by a beach restaurant. Locals prefer to order coffee or frappe, to which a bottle of water is added.
Manufacturers of clothing and footwear also report that they are forced to raise prices and expect a drop in turnover, according to “Maritsa”.
From July 1, a new wave of rising prices is expected, which will cover not only food, economists warn.
