A Cathay Pacific airliner has made an emergency landing in Hong Kong, according to the Hong Kong television channel RTHK.
The incident occurred due to the fact that one of the landing gear of the plane en route from Hong Kong to Los Angeles overheated and exploded. The crew decided to return to the airport of departure.
As a result of the incident, 18 people, including five men and 13 women, were injured. The remaining 275 passengers on board the aircraft were not injured.
More than 10 ambulances arrived at the scene. The injured were hospitalized.
