Turkey plans to increase the number of free beaches in 2024. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
According to him, this measure is aimed at improving the quality of life of the population and attracting more tourists.
The minister spoke about the results of the “free 5-star public beach” initiative, which was launched in 2019: over five years, 15 projects were implemented in different regions of the country. The network of public beaches will continue to expand every year.
In 2024, six more public beaches are expected to open – in Manavgat, Kemer, Bodrum, Cesme, Adana and Giresun.
Another priority of the ministry remains the protection of the historical and cultural heritage of Anatolia: currently, about 500 archaeological projects are being implemented in Turkey per year, and by 2026 this number will increase to 800.
